Familiars
Familiars (a.k.a. fams)[1] are monsters (including boss monsters) that can be caught by players in all dungeons and raids.[2] All normal / base-level / unfused familiars (on this page) are part of the materials required to make at least one familiar-fusion.
Every time a monster is defeated while questing, there is a small chance for a prompt to appear allowing the player to persuade or bribe the monster into becoming their familiar:
- Persuade: Spend gold for a 10 to 40% success chance to catch the familiar.
- Bribe: Spend gems for a 100% guaranteed familiar catch.
Fusions
Fusion (or fusing) is the act of combining familiars (a.k.a fams)[3] and other materials to create a new, stronger (fused-)familiar.
Before you begin you must locate and obtain the necessary fusion schematics:
- Regular schematics are only obtainable from Zone Dungeons and Raids that contain the related familiars used as components in the schematic.[4][5]
- World Boss, Invasion and Expedition schematics are only obtainable from their World Boss[6], Invasion Event[7] or Expedition Event[8] areas regardless of the components.
- Sometimes random schematics can be purchased, or rewarded as prizes.[9]
Once obtained you may see or use them (recipe for combining familiars and fusion-specific materials for use) by selecting the FAMILIARS icon and then the FUSION button; or by speaking to Prof. Haile in town.
Fused-familiars obtain at least one new passive ability and have a +5% stat percentage increase from normal familiars based on their rarity (65%, 75%, 85%, and 95% respectively).
Stables: A familiar gains 2% of the player's total stats per upgrade (up to a maximum of 10%) in the stables. The extra stats are distributed proportionally among the familiar's stats. Like normal familiars, fused-familiars' stats scale on percentages based on the player's total stats (Power + Stamina + Agility ).
Augments
Augments provide a small boost to familiars when equipped on that familiar's augment table. There are four types of augments, each of which can be obtained through different means:
- Xirtanium Skeletal Linings (Crafted)
- Neurion Stimulators (Shop )
- Microprocessing Stablizing Chips (Loot)
- Radial Flow Regulator Pumps (Crafted)
Stable
The Stable is a building in which familiars and fusion-familiars are kept. A player can board familiars to increase its stats. A familiar gains 2% of the player's total stats per upgrade (up to a maximum of 10%) in the Stable. The extra stats are distributed proportionally among the familiar's stats. Once a player boards a familiar it can no longer be used for battles. Familiars can always be released from the Stable to use them again, however, you lose the bonus you gained from having them in the Stable until you board them again.
Notes
- ↑ Advanced: Sometimes instead of normal/base-level/unfused familiars (like on this page) "Fused-familiars" are often referred to as just "familiars" in this wiki, or by their individual names in chat rooms.)
- ↑ Monsters appearing in World Boss, Trials, Gauntlet and Invasion are not directly recruitable, and must be built/fused.
- ↑ Advanced: Sometimes instead of normal/base-level/unfused familiars your previously fused-familiars will be used for fusion, such as in Walkom. ("Fused-familiars" are often referred to as just "familiars" in this wiki, or by their individual names in chat rooms.)
- ↑ Example 1: the Shrampz schematic (using Shrump + Grampz) can be obtained from (Zone 1/Dungeon 2) Z1D2 (Shrump location), Z1D4 (contains all Z1 familiars), Z2D2 (Grampz location), and Z2D4 (contains all Z2 familiars).
- ↑ Example 2: the Gelbos schematic (using Gelvins and 3 Robot Sprockets) can be obtained from (Raid 5) R5 plus 3 Robot Sprockets.
